The Conference aims at providing platform to discuss advances in our knowledge on the distribution of microbes and their viruses across diverse environments, their influence on the ecosystems in which they live and their impact on human health, agriculture, culinary traditions and industry. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for students and scientists to meet and interact with experts from all over the world, to exchange ideas and develop new relationships.
The sessions will be held on September, 22-25 and cover the following topics:
Clinical Microbiology and Epidemiology
Bacteriophages and their Medical Applications
Microbial Ecosystems and Microbiomes
The special workshop will be held on September, 26-27 “New Trends in Extremophile Research and Biotechnology “
Workshop: “New Trends in Extremophile Research and Biotechnology ”
The central theme of the workshop is the extremophilic microorganisms, the protein products of which can be suitable for various industrial and biotechnological applications.
The workshop talks will cover key areas of ecology, diversity, biotechnological aspects, adaptations and viruses of extremophiles. The main objective of the workshop is to stimulate new understandings of the role extremophile microbes in ecosystems and in the development of human technologies. Participation of MSc and Ph.D. students is encouraged.
The conference is organized by the Eliava Institute of Bacteriophage, Microbiology and Virology, Tbilisi, the Tbilisi Regional Hub of the Academia Europaea, the Georgian Association for General and Applied Microbiology, the University of Bergen and Yerevan State University.
